Once the contract is signed, you will undoubtedly be busy getting ready for your move. Here is a checklist of items that you will want to review to ensure a smooth transition.
Choose a lawyer/notary public to handle the legalities of the transaction and inform your realtor
If your property taxes are automatically debited by City Hall, contact them to discontinue the automatic debit
If moving to/from a strata, contact your strata management office to arrange elevator access move date/time and pay any move-in/move-out fees
Arrange for mail redirection from Canada Post
Contact the utility companies to disconnect or move services:

Notify your cable, internet, phone and/or cellular provider:
Contact your financial institution:

Alert your health care providers: Medical Services Plan
Register your new address with ICBC and if applicable, the company that provides your optional coverage
Arrange to start/discontinue home insurnace coverage as of the POSSESSION DATE
Arrange for moving services (look for discounts on mid-month or weekday moves)

10 days before Completion – contact your lawyer/notary public to arrange to sign documents
